The Milano Fashion Institute's Courses aim to provide the most up-to-date knowledge and skills on the topics of Fashion Law, New Sustanaible Fashion, Fashion 4.0, Start Up For Fashion and Jewellery Today.
Students will learn design methodologies that involve the use of the latest generation of innovative digital technologies. The course includes theorical lessons, exercises, practical experiments and design workshops aimed at deepening the different phases of designing fashion products, from the conception phase to the 3D printing phase.
Students will explore 3D scanning methods, will learn the limits and advantages of the different devices. Part of the course will then be dedicated to experimentation with software for digital modeling, CAD drawing and 3D modeling. Students will be able to physically prototype products using additive printing and laser cutting technologies.
Once the theoretical and technical bases for the use of digital technologies have been learned, students will be encouraged to develop original projects in the fashion product field, implementing the knowledge acquired through the design and 3D printing workshops.
The “Fashion 4.0” course is carried out by the Milano Fashion Institute Faculty, composed of academics and practitioners with different backgrounds: fashion design, mechanical engineering and business management of the fashion system, and is carried out in collaboration with leading professionals and companies of the sector. A multidisciplinary team guarantees the most complete understanding of the topics covered
The course aims to prepare students for the world of work through the development of projects whose briefs are set and formulated similarly to those in the forefront of the industry.
The course aims to train professionals able to manage the different phases of the design process in the fashion product in an innovative way.
The preliminary objective of the course is to provide students with useful knowledge to use virtual scanning tools, 3D design software and production technologies through additive printing applied to the sector. The ultimate goal is to be able to digitally design fashion products and manage modeling and production processes.
Each course is suitable for undergraduates, young graduates, professionals and young managers who wish to deepen the most characteristic themes of the Fashion System and find targeted and solid career opportunities in this sector.

The new designers must adapt to the change taking place: today designing means not only having creativity, but also knowing how to use the right tools. The didactic model proposed in the courses of Milano Fashion Institute is innovative: not only in-class lectures, but also case studies and best practices, project works and laboratory activities.
The educational model is composed as follows:
- Theoretical lessons in the classroom
- Project and Prototyping Workshops
Traditional in classroom lectures are alternated with case discussions, meetings with professionals of the sector, classroom exercise activities and design workshops.
At the end of the course a MFI certificate is delivered to each student.
The course is structured in 4 modules:
Module 1: Fashion System in the Digital Era
The Fashion System
The course is dedicated to the analysis of the fashion system, through historical-analytical references and to the description of the best contemporary case studies.
Designing Fashion aims to provide the theoretical basis for the development of creative projects in the field of fashion, from the ideation and concept phase to that of prototype development.
Module 2: Digital Tools for Fashion
Graphics and Digital Presentation
The graphic course will allow students to acquire theoretical knowledge and learn the technical tools of digital graphics in order to illustrate, present and enhance the project.
Digital Modelling and Automated Manufacturing
The course of Digital Modeling and Automated Manufacturing is dedicated to the deepening of the main CAD software tools for fashion. At the end of the course the student will be able to combine analog creative methods with the use of digital design tools, through a constant interaction between traditional process and new CAD technologies.
Students will have the opportunity to apply creatively what they have learned in the previous modules through the design of an individual project.
Digital Prototyping Workshop
The course ends with a digital prototyping workshop through 3D printing or laser cutting of details of your project or in its entirety, if technically possible.

The selection process will be based on the evaluation of the CV and the application form.

After receiving the documents, Milano Fashion Institute will inform the applicant on the selection final result (admission or non admission).
In order to apply for the admission to the course, the candidate must have a good knowledge of Illustrator software, Photoshop and the Adobe package and digital modeling software.
The participants are required to have a significant commitment both personally and financially.
The total cost amounts to € 2.400, payable as follows:
1st installment > 1.200 € on the acceptance of the application;
2nd installment > 1.200 € by 21 January 2022;
Costs include a part of the study material and the use of facilities of the Institute.

1. The first installment is non-refundable. The participant is allowed to withdraw, up to the eighth calendar day preceding the starting date of the course, by submitting a letter (priority mail service) to the registered address of the Milano Fashion Institute, anticipated in any case, by fax and / or e-mail; if so, the participant may request the return of fees paid, except for the first installment.
2. If the member, with methods described in the previous article, demonstrated an intention not to participate at a later date, that does not give notice and is not present in class, he/she will not be entitled to any refund and must pay the full fee bearing in mind that he/she could within a (calendar) year from the starting date of the Course, attend the next edition of the Course (if applicable) or another MFI Course, upon payment of price adjustment.
