SILVIA MAZZUCOTELLI

Holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Research Methodology from the Catholic University of Milan.  She is currently lecturer in Sociology of cultural and communicative processes at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences where she  also collaborates in the activities of ModaCult-Center for the study of Fashion and cultural Production. She carries out didactic and research activities with attention to the themes of communication and material culture with particular attention to cultural industries- mostly fashion, food and design - and their interactions with urban transformations.  In the field of fashion, her research explores the overlap between fashion, art and food. In particular, she is interested in products that combine artisan knowledge and technological innovation. Her publications in this filed include, among others, Artefici di Bellezza. Mestieri d'arte nella moda italiana (Marsilio, 2013) e Maestri del fare (Marsilio, 2012).
