MASTER IN FASHION MARKETING, RETAIL & MERCHANDISING MANAGEMENT

The Master in Fashion Marketing, Retail & Merchandising Management - MIFAR prepares the next generation of retail leaders and merchandising experts, equipping them with the strategic and operational skills to manage fashion and luxury brands across global markets.
In an industry where consumer experience, data intelligence, and AI-driven retail are redefining the rules of the game, the ability to connect product, market, and customer has never been more critical.

Fashion retail is no longer just about selling — it is about creating ecosystems of desire, loyalty, and value. From the shop floor to the digital storefront, from buying strategy to visual merchandising, every touchpoint is an opportunity to build a brand's presence and profitability.


MEET MIFAR 

Developed in close partnership with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, MIFAR offers a highly multidisciplinary curriculum that bridges academic rigour with hands-on industry practice. The programme is co-designed with leading fashion and luxury brands to address the real challenges professionals face today — from omnichannel retail management to data-driven merchandising and AI-powered market analysis.

Students will gain a deep understanding of the full product journey — from creative conception through production, marketing, and market launch — developing the skills to drive brand growth and respond to the fast-evolving dynamics of the global fashion market.

They will learn to: 

  • Develop and implement marketing and retail strategies for fashion and luxury brands across global markets
  • Manage the full merchandising cycle — from buying and assortment planning to in-store and digital execution
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and market trends using data intelligence and AI-powered tools
  • Build omnichannel retail strategies, integrating physical and digital touchpoints seamlessly
  • Work on real case studies and projects in partnership with leading fashion and luxury brands


AFTER MIFAR

The master trains professionals ready to operate at the intersection of product, market, and customer, among other roles:

  • Retail Manager: oversees daily store operations, sales performance, and customer experience across single or multi-brand
    retail environments.
  • Merchandiser: plans and manages product assortment, pricing strategies, and stock allocation to maximise brand
    performance.
  • Brand Manager: supports the definition and consistency of brand identity across all retail touchpoints and communication
    channels.
  • Trade Marketing & Communication Manager: develops and implements marketing initiatives aimed at strengthening the
    brand's presence at the point of sale.
  • Licensing Manager : manages licensing agreements and partnerships, ensuring brand coherence across all licensed product
    categories.
  • E-commerce Manager: coordinates the brand's online retail strategy, from product presentation to digital sales performance
    and customer journey optimisation.

Certificate: 1st level University Master accredited through Università della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli as formal academic
qualifications in accordance with the standards set by the Italian Ministry of Education. 60 CFU/ ECTS

Duration of the Master: 1 year, 1500 hours

Director of the Master 2024/25:

OLIVIA SPINELLI, Academic Advisor 

Olivia Spinelli è una professionista esperta con oltre 25 anni di esperienza nell'industria della moda. Dopo aver conseguito la laurea in Fashion Design e Management presso l'Università di Urbino, ha iniziato la sua carriera come fashion designer, collaborando con importanti maison italiane come Dolce & Gabbana (linea D & G), Versace (collezione VERSUS donna), Romeo Gigli e Gianfranco Ferré.

Dal 2008, Olivia gestisce il proprio studio di design, creando collezioni e offrendo consulenze a brand di primo piano, tra cui HTC, Lorena Antoniazzi, Levi's, I Pinco Pallino, La Perla e Dirk Bikkembergs. Ha inoltre diretto il dipartimento di Fashion Design presso IED Moda, insegnando corsi di Fashion Design e Progetti Finali. Dal 2016 al 2024, ha ricoperto il ruolo di Direttore Artistico per sfilate ed eventi e di Responsabile di IED Moda, supervisionando oltre 1.200 studenti all'anno.

Oltre alla sua attività di fashion designer, Olivia ha contribuito al mondo teatrale, disegnando costumi per compagnie come Compagnia della Fortezza, Motus e Kataklo Dance Company.

 

Director for 2026/27:

TOBIA BERETTA, Managing Director at Fabiana Filippi Spa

Tobia Beretta è un executive con oltre vent’anni di esperienza nei settori Luxury, Fashion e Lifestyle, con un solido background in business development, strategia e gestione internazionale. Dal dicembre 2024 ricopre il ruolo di Managing Director di Fabiana Filippi, brand italiano di lusso riconosciuto a livello globale per l’eccellenza del Made in Italy, coordinando tutte le Business Unit e guidando la crescita strutturale, commerciale e reputazionale dell’azienda.

In precedenza è stato Vice President di Antonioli Group, uno dei principali player europei nel retail di lusso e nell’innovazione fashion, con responsabilità strategiche su retail, e-commerce, real estate, consulting e incubazione di brand. Ha inoltre ricoperto il ruolo di CEO di Dreamers Factory, guidando il rilancio internazionale di Ann Demeulemeester e il lancio di nuovi progetti contemporanei.

Il suo percorso include posizioni di vertice in aziende iconiche come Neil Barrett e Giorgio Armani, dove ha gestito lo sviluppo commerciale globale, reti wholesale e retail, franchising e progetti speciali. Riconosciuto per la sua leadership strategica, visione internazionale e capacità di costruire valore nel lungo periodo, Tobia Beretta opera con un approccio orientato ai risultati, all’innovazione e alla crescita sostenibile.
